Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

1.Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how VIN HISTORY NOW LLC ("VINHistoryNow," "we," "us") collects, uses and protects personal information when you use vinhistorynow.com (the "Service"). We collect only the information needed to provide the Service.

2.Information we collect

We collect information you provide (such as your email address and the VINs you search), payment-related information handled by our payment processor, and limited technical information sent automatically by your browser (such as IP address, browser type and pages visited) that our hosting provider may log for security and operation.

3.Account and contact information

When you place an order, we collect your email address and any name you provide so we can create your account, send receipts and service notices, and respond to support requests. If you email us, we keep that correspondence.

4.VIN and license plate searches

We record the VINs and license plates you search so we can deliver reports and show your search history in your account. A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person, but we treat your search history as personal information because it is linked to your account.

5.Payment information

Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Your full card number is entered with and stored by that processor, not on our own servers. We may receive limited details such as the card brand, last four digits, expiration date and transaction status.

Owner review: Name the payment processor (for example, Stripe or Paddle) once it is connected. No payment processor is connected to the site yet.

6.Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. At the date of this policy, the website does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

7.Google Ads and analytics

We advertise through Google Ads. When you click one of our ads, Google may place its own cookies on Google's sites under Google's privacy policy, and the link to our site may include campaign parameters (for example, a "gclid" or "utm" value) in the web address.

If we add Google Ads conversion tracking, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or similar tools to our website, we will update this policy and our Cookie Policy before doing so, and provide any choices required by law. You can manage Google's ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.

Owner review: Update this section before installing any tracking tags on the site.

8.How we use information

  • Provide reports and operate your account and orders;
  • Process payments and refunds;
  • Send receipts and service-related messages;
  • Respond to support, billing and privacy requests;
  • Prevent fraud, abuse and unauthorized access;
  • Comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.

We do not send marketing emails unless you have agreed to receive them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

9.Third-party providers

We rely on service providers that process information on our behalf, including our website hosting provider, our payment processor, our vehicle-data providers (which receive the VIN or plate you search, not your payment details) and our email provider. They may use the information only to provide services to us.

Owner review: List the actual providers (hosting, payments, data, email) once confirmed.

10.Data sharing and disclosures

We do not sell your personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only to the service providers described above, when required by law or valid legal process, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets (subject to this policy).

11.Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12.Data retention

We keep account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. We aim to delete VIN search history that is no longer needed within 12 months, unless we must keep it longer for a legitimate reason such as a dispute. We keep billing and transaction records as long as needed for legal, tax, accounting and fraud-prevention purposes.

13.Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, access it, correct it, delete it, or opt out of certain processing. California and other U.S. state residents may have additional rights under state law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

14.Access and deletion requests

To make a request, email support@vinhistorynow.com from the email address on your account. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Some information may be kept where the law requires or allows it, such as billing records.

15.Children's privacy

The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

16.International data processing

We are based in the United States, and our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries. By using the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be processed in the U.S., where data protection laws may differ from those in your country.

17.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated "Last updated" date and notify subscribers of material changes by email.
